Depends on how you set the bike down from a Wheelie. I'm 280lbs and I ride stand-ups all day long, whenever the front tire is about to touch, I crack the throttle a little and it touches down smooth as can be....

Now when your 280lbs rolling stoppies arn't bad either but their is an art to landing them without bottoming out...I can do it once and a while but most of the time they come down pretty hard...but oh well, i bought the bike to ride, not to sit...

Hey Busa, do you stand before starting the wheelie or do you get on the pegs once the front wheel is pointing to the sky? I'm just getting to the point where I'm comfortable near or at the balance point but I can't see shee-ite in front of me.

As soon as the bike starts to stand up...I go with the bike and I start to stand. Sometimes the bike will be in the air for a while and the I'll decide to stand up. Other than that usually I just go with the bike..Here is a better pic from the side as I'm beginning to stand up...

One day I hope to have a pair to do that. I chop the throttle while the bike is going up, to afraid to fall. Busa killer, do you down shift when you start or do you back offthe throttle then whack it while in first gear?

Thanks Busa. I'll have to start working on that. On the wheelie note, a friend of mine lost it at 160 km/h (100 mph) on his GSXR1000, yesterday. He's fine. He said his boots saved his ankle. The bike is not too bad considering he says. He's got the frame and swingarm slinders. I definitely have to get myself a set of sliders and good boots.

I love wheelies on my 12 , I think I actually do more wheelies than drag race. I also love the stands cause I feel I can get a better view of the road instead of when I do them sitting down. For some reason Also when Im doing the stand up I can play with feather the gas more nicely, I get to scared to play too much when Im doing the sitting down wheelies. O , by the way Id recommend that guy a nice steering damper, I went down on my 12 this past Nov, got it back and running , Used to be Red now its all Black/Gold.
