dyno types
I'm just about to put my 1270 together. I have not been able to find a map for the combination I have (K+N's, stock fuel pump, stepped Hindle, 1270 kit, clean air blocked off, reduction ported head, etc), and will have to get a map made. Which is the best dyno for making a map? I have access to a Factory Pro dyno (about 4 hours away...and this company is certified by Factory Pro. They have an EC 997 dyno), and am aware of a few dyno jet dyno's in the city. I will make the drive to the company with the Factory Pro if it's worth it, but am looking for input.

I don't know much about dynos but could you please email me any maps that you might have for my 2000 12 with full stepped Hindle, K&N's, Muzzy clean air block off plates, with a PC3R? My addy is motorcycleted@comcast.net

Assuming you're mapping a power commander, it sounds like using a DJ dyno with a Tuning Link is the way to go. Less wear and tear on teh bike cause it does it faster than a human can. I'd assume it produces a better map too since everything is measured instead of "felt", tho that is very much an arguable point.

Ignoring the fact that the numbers from the Factory dyno will read much lower than the Dynojet, it's a good dyno in the hands of a certified operator. Mark Salvisburg is a good guy with a good product. But again, don't correlate the numbers with anything from a Dynojet, they will be lower. But obviously if you ran you bike on a Dynojet afterwards, it should indeed read really good numbers. Only number relevant to anything; same dyno, same day, same bike. I think the Dynojet, Factory, and Superflow are all exceptional dynos.

Thanks a lot guys. I did get your emails of a few good maps. I also down loaded 1 from DJ's site. These should give me a good starting spot for sure.
