I will be damned, WTF is the world comin' to ????

I've got a good buddy that lives in East Tennessee that I thought could ride. But little did I know I was wrong!!! I run across this shit on the net a few minutes ago. A damned 12R gettin' bulldogged by a damned Yamaha, and not an R1!!!!

Seriously Mark called me while I was on my way home from the gym and told me to put these up on the board. He told me about this last week, and he himself just ran across the pics today. These pics are all the more reason my new WR450 will be Motarded asap. I know it has got to be a blast in the tight technical stuff like the Gap.

Let the carnage begin.

A great shot, too bad I don't have the high res versions of these pics.

Another good one........

On the outside???

Cool shot 4-sure.......

Looks like a lot of fun to me!!!

Rick, Thanks for posting the pictures.

Truth be known, the guy finally got around me. I got schooled by a 650. We ran up on some cars, and he got around the car quicker than I did. Then in the tight stuff, I had nothing for him. He would pull me by 10 bike lengths in the switch backs. I'd run him back down on the little short shoots, but as hard as I could get on the brakes, I just couldn't get back around him. By the time we got to the store, I was still looking at his license plate, and I didn't feel too bad. That 240 pound motard just took me to school and I couldn't do anything about it. I was killing him on the short shoots but he was killing me on the brakes. When we got down to the store, I introduced myself as the guy that just got his ass busted. He said that he was impressed at how I was hustling that big son of a bitch through there. Like I said, truth be known, I gave it all I had and I had nothing for him. If we had met on the Cherohala or Foothills Parkway, it would have been game over for him. But that's not fair. Just goes to show you with the right bike , the right place, the right rider, you can get educated real fast. I don't feel bad though because I represented the 12's the best I could. I have always heard how fast these super motards are in tight places, and now I know. Class was in session and I just got schooled.

try that on a 950 with street tires...the 950ride like a steroided out KLR 650...hell, what about a 950 motarded with 17" front/rear and all its LC8 grunt and lighter weight than a 12R...and I hear the KTM 625SMC might be the ticket (or the ticket getter ) for a setup-from-the-factory street motard for those who don't want to role your own...should be available by this summer...U.S. gets the 625...Euros get the 660...damnit-to-hell-Jim!

Motards....

I'm tellin' ya, I sure wish I had the loot to get some wheels, tires, cush drive set-up, and sprocket for the WR. I'd bring it to the rally and have major fun @ The Gap. It'd rule on that little switchback off of the BRP too. What is that, 151??? Chris you remember when we got detoured off the BRP that time? The road that is tighter than the Gap??? Motard heaven I tell ya.

It's nice having a street legal WR450.

Hell yeah I remember that road. The switchbacks were awesome. Heavy heavy braking needed on quite a few of them. Throwing the 12 through there was work.

I was at the dragon two years ago , And I was on a real good day. My bike was set-up, It was'nt lowered like it was like last fall 2 inchs, That sucked bad, Never again,

But back to my Supermotard live debut. I was screaming though the Dragon, And passing bike after bike, No locale plates of course , :lol

Then I heard a rumble behind me, I look and say damm, A dirtbike ?

They were hauling the mail, I moved to the right side of lane and waved em by. I stayed with em for three corners and said screw this, Way to much effort and my front end was sliding out,

KTM's street legal Supermotards. I told many of this and few believed me. You almost have to see a KTM whip the rear out in a turn on the dragon like its a berm on a dirt track to believe what I say.

Supermotards are the king of the dragon, I have seen em up close, And they were going about there bussiness with no hinder.

KLR 650

I saw a guy on a non-motarded KLR 650 SPANK two guys that were on 600s. That was an experience that got me to thinkin' what if..............?

I may not convert my bike to a full-tilt Motard, but eventually she will have at a minimum wheels, tires, cush drive set-up, and be regeared. That will probably open the door for tons of other mods, but who knows?

awesome....

worm that is awesome!!! I'd love to see some stuff like that. Just got back a few minutes ago from riding the WR. I'm still learning the bike and it's been a long time since I've rode in the dirt, but it's going well. Still a little nerve racking to be layed over pretty far,on the gas, sideways, and pulling a wheelie at the same time.

When the knobbys were still pretty effective it was even more nerve racking. It'd catch all at once and WHOA!!!!!

I got that T-shirt, too.

On the track I was on my Gixxer 600 and got passed by a WR450 like nuthin'. I tried hard to follow him through the tight stuff and it was WORK.

If I ever had a motard it'd be a retard motard!
