Twisties.?? 12r ???

Went for a ride yesterday on one of the sweetest roads around here for the twisties. I had the 12 and the other bikes were.. R1, 954, 929, and a F4 with KTM colors.
There's something about those little bikes that I can't figure out?!? They don't seem to stay planted in the corners like the 12 does.
The 929 and F4 went down behind me on a slightly uphill, left hand, tighty. Luckily, nobody hurt and both bikes sustained minimal damage.(frame sliders are AMAZING!)
The 929 lowsided well before the apex of the corner and he slid apprx. 40' of pavement, then about 20' of shoulder/ditch. His engineside cover was scratched and he broke off the left mirror. Also there was a small chunkout of the upper, left windscreen. Other than that, just a ground down slider, and a few minor (VERY minor) scratches on the plastic underneath the engine cover. He also lost a little leather from his ass and a few new holes in his gloves.
The other guy on the F4 doesn't know for sure what happened. It was either going too fast for the corner, or the dreaded T.F.
He was even luckier than the first guy! He went off the road and barely missed a 15 mph sign post, hit a dirt mound that stopped him abruptly, leaving him with just enough momentum to stop on top the mound instead of launching him into the trees.
The only damage we could see on his bike was the missing windscreen. When he hit the mound, his helmeted head smacked the screen and made it disappear. All we found were itty bitty pieces.
After a little test riding, both bikes were deemed roadworthy and we took off to finish the last 3/4 of our ride. Other than the crashes, we had a good day!
It's just too bad those litre bikes have such a hard time trying to hang with the 12r in the tight stuff.

I've said it before and .....

I've said it before and I'll say it again. A properly set-up 12R with a good rider can really give guys on much more capable bikes a fit in the twisties. I've seen it many times at the gap,and even here at home. All the more reason why I've choose to quit thinking about the 10R for the time being. Yeah I could be faster on a 10R, but it's more fun passing guys on the 12R knowing their saying, "I thought those fucking bikes were junk and wouldn't handle". LMFAO!!!

Dino I got my hinge on yesterday. That thing is sweet, very nice addition to Lil' Red.

(shudders)...brings back memories of HWY 36...I, too, dunno what happened...anyway, I think the reason why these capable litre bikes were falling down behind this 12R particular rider and his well-prepped leanmachine are exceptionally well connected with each other in a surreal synergistic union of man and machine...the only problem I see with the 12R rider is that he keeps on looking backwards as he is going fast forward...mount a heads-up display with a rear facing bullet camera lens already, ya' goof!

Glad to see no one was hurt, and hopefully you had the same great weather we had here in Seattle. Did my friend get a hold of you about the hinge? There may be another guy interested also, just met him today, but he really liked mine and asked where he could get one.

Glad to hear it. Like I said, there may be another guy looking for one. Thomas and I along with some of his friends went for a ride today, and one of the other guys was on a 12 and also got excited about the hinge on my bike.
