Going to Gainsville...I have some questions
So, I've decided to go to Gainsville later this year for the Prostar world finals. I'm going to watch and maybe purchase a, 8-second chassis bike.
I'm in California. Which airport would I fly into to get there? Can anyone suggest any hotels?
I want to get a head start in the planning.

Jacksonville Intl. would be cheapest. Gainesville actually has its own airport.
Shoot me a PM if you need a place to stay or someone to pick you up at the airport.

Tampa is another option cheap for southwest(its their main florida hub)...its not as close as jax...but if the fare is cheaper...do watcha gotta do

How far of a drive is it from Tampa to Gainsville? JAX to Gainsville?

Jax is only 90miles (the furthest parts) from Gainesville.
Tampa is about 150miles.

Dammit!!! It looks like I got myself with an April fools joke. I just looked at my schedule. Unfortunately, the NHRA Division 7 race in Vegas is the same weekend as the Prostar World Finals. The Vegas race was a week earlier last year.
We're also running the Kerker King of the Coast race there that weekend too, so I definitely can't miss it. 
Looks like it's going to be another year before I make it to Gainsville.
