Poll Question: GP vice regular shift pattern Just a quick poll on how many folks have tried and liked / disliked a GP shift pattern versus a regular shift pattern.
FYI: A GP shift pattern is a reversed pattern, 1 up and 5 down, vice the normal 1 down and 5 up. This pattern allows a rider to upshift while in a corner, an important feature in roadracing.

The GP pattern is alittle hard to get used to but once mastered it works flawlessly!

I removed some material from the shifter shaft so that it wouldn't rub against the frame. Any other ideas / solutions?

I tried it and liked it for racing. After 20+ years
of 1 down 4-5 up, when i relax i would downshift at the wrong time. So i put it back to normal.

I remember my old Ducati had 1 up and 4 down, then I would get on my dad's Triumph with 1 down and 3 up. Always wanted to shift again on the Triumph.

I reversed the pattern on my 12 and love it. I've got to get the same done on my 11, just have to modify the linkage a bit. Makes shifting under hard acceleration much better.
