Bike choice Dilema? When I lived in Germany I had an 00 ZX12R (The faster silver). Now I have a 03 Black Z1000. I live in the high desert in California. Great riding weather, but everything is a long ride. The Z1000 is a great hooligan trye naked bike, but the seat isn't that comfortable for longer trips. I would just go back to the Zx12R, but the way they go thru rear tires... I also don't trust myself on a 12 (I'd prefer to keep my license). Im starting to lean towards something like a CBR 1100XX, or maybe the Yamaha FJ 1300. I don't really care for the appearance of the Kawasaki ZX11 based sport tourer. Does anyone here have any experiance with the bikes I mentioned? Or other reccomendations?

I have a 2002 ZZR1200. I've ridden it down to Laguna Seca from Seattle and back. The trip down was along the coast and took 4 days. The bike was great through the twisties, given it's size and weight. When it was time to return, I got on I-5 and let it roll...12 hours later, I'm home. The secret to the ZZR is to just get on and ride it. 260+ miles to a tank of gas will really help you get places. I didn't crack 100 mph the whole trip back. And I only stopped three times for fuel refill. With my recent purchase of the ZX10R, I think I have a good fit for whatever kind of riding I want to do.

You want someone on this board to ease your decision about buying a Honda or Yamaha???.....lol
If you want mileage out of tires... buy the Bridgestones.
My last complaint would be maintenance costs on a sportbike. ____________
