Wouldn't want to show that to a first time passenger, or someone considering picking up the sport.

Busakiller, again, sorry about accidently deleting your post. To see how I linked the website, just click "edit" on my post. I used [***] before the address and [/***] after it. Just put URL in place of ***. If it was a link to a picture, you take the address and you'd put IMG instead of URL.

MM, I used Windows Media Player to save it. While it was downloading, I just clicked on FILE than SAVE MEDIA AS. It's around 27MB in size, so it might be kinda hard to e-mail. Better do it soon. As soon as they realize how popular the video is, they'll probably make it so you can NOT copy and save it.

Just so no one gets confused, I did not have anything to do with the making of this video. I just fixed the link that Busakiller had found and posted. After I saw it for the first time, I just saved a copy for myself.

Well it's not a vid you watch on a picnic...but it puts you in perspective of what could happen at any given second...Just remember anything in life that you love, there are always chances that come with that love...no matter what it is..

I'm pretty sure I won't re-play that one again. I did once to see if it was real, and I regret it. I literally felt sick for about 15 minutes afterward because I know that's no hollywood special effects. :-/

"We all take a modicum of risk every time we thumb the starter - it's just inherent to the sport" - Sport Rider

To deny the above two statements would be woefully ignorant. The facts we view through this video is just a repeat of our own expereriences or that of other riders we know personally. Collar bones have been broken and friends have been... have been lost.

As all those newspaper clips flashed by, I saw that it had the expected "high speed" and "no helmet" snipits, but as they continued, I realized that this was neither their focus or the point. The majority seem to center on the two aspects.

Carelessness and needlessness.

In some cases, it was by the driver of the auto, while other times it was the rider of the bike. The is little we can do to address the faults of the driver. One thing we can do is to join the AMA. We do not have to agree with everything they do, but to have a voice in both the courtrooms as well as the government, there really isn't another choice.

When it comes to the faults of the rider, we have total control. For the sportbike rider, there is little room for carelessness. To be such, usually concludes one's sportbike riding days in a short time. I guess they become cruiser riders (just kidding... kinda).

On the other hand, each and everyone of us is guilty of doing a needless act while riding. To cause risk to ourselves is a simple choice. To cause risk to others is simply stupid. We have an obligation to educate ourselves. Going to Keith Code's school is an excellent method.

One thing we sadly overlooked is our obligation to educate other riders as well. To just shake one's helmeted head while watching squidly acts on public streets not only ignores the risk, but also does a greater diservice to all riders everwhere. Because not only did you witness someone else's stupidity, so did a much larger number of the the non-riding public.

Those non-riding witnesses might also be ones that sit on the jury of a motorcyclist manslaughter trial. That witness might even be the judge himself. There is nothing wrong with doing wheelies, stoppies, burnouts or even stunts. It's a personal choice. To do such in the view of everyone in the grocery store parking lot does nothing but leave a very negative view by those that do not ride. A view that they will hold well beyond the time they turn left in front of you. A view that will be repeated in the courtroom and the halls of the state senate.
