holeshot 3

any problems with the hole shot3 on the zx-12r??

I like the compact idea of elect/elect and wondering if he has all the bugs out or if I should look for another elect/elect setup?

PS3: GREAT product

I have a ZX12 with about 200 passes on its PS3. ZERO complaints, all praise. My bike is the green 12 on Walker's site in the testimonials, and I stand by evry gushy word I wrote for Dale 6 mo ago.

It is not at all hard to set up, but be warned, it is a bit more exacting than say mounting a hugger, or changing a sprocket. Talk to someone who has done it personally before lifting a wrench or silver soldering torch.

I'm no professional wrench, and made plenty of little mistakes in the install, so I can tell you plenty of "what not to do's".

The only quirk it has (at least on my bike) is that if you run the rpm into the limiter it doesn't like to shift solidly. Since going into the limiter in 1/4 mi isn't the objective anyway, this is not usually a problem

One more thing: some have said it won't work on big hp motors. I don't know what big hp means, but it seems to work even better on my 12 since I had the 1361 installed a couple of moths ago. Go figure

Cool thanks for the info I have a 1436cc and I doubt motor size has much to do with shifting.

Thanks for the feed back

Iboom,
I would be careful about completely disregarding the folks who say the PS3 aint for "built motors" My experience w/1361 has been all positive, but yr motor sounds way further up the scale than mine, and I find that the "old hands" always seem to know what they are talking about.

I suggest you pose the question of PS3 on big motor bikes here and ESPECIALLY on SuzukiHayabusa.org. There are way more Busa guys with extensive drag experience than 12 guys. Sad but true.

Our experienced 12 drag guys are great and very quick ( Ican't wait to see what KC does in 2003 with juice), but thr Busa guys have been at it longer. Just a thought.

dale walker ps3

the ps3 is outstanding.dale is great to talk with.very good customer service.it is an involved install.if you can adjust your valves or replace you clutch basket you would be able to do the mechanical end of it. as for as wiring goes take your time and triple check your work. once you get it dialed in you will freakout how cool it is.at around 6000 rpm's it is almost seemless shifts. dale should get a design award.it took around 15 hours. a great learning experience.go for it.......killer

GP pattern

1 up and 5 down - Reversed from the standard shifting pattern.Much better than standard for drag racing and riding around corners. You can upshift while banked over cause your foot is sitting on top of the shifter.I've ground up my toe a few times going around corners and I don't like the feeling of my foot being trapped underneath the shifter.

GP SHIFT PATTERN

No, the shifter cable must pull "UP" on the lever so you will have to go back to 1 d. 5 u. EZ has a PS3 on a busa he is putting a 340hp turbo on so lets see if his works or not.
