BST CF Wheels
FYI,
I received the following from parts@casolimotousa.com
Hello Mr.Miller, Unfortunately BST are no longer producing their Carbon
wheels for the ZX12 because of problems with them craking and or breaking.
You would be better off with a nice set of Magnesium wheels like Marvic or
Dymag! They will still save you a substantial amount of weight, be very
functional and look good as well. We are the US importer for Dymag and we
are also a Marvic and Marchesini Dealer! But quite honestly we do not
recommend the BST wheels for your machine! Let us know if you decide on a
different set of wheels! Take Care, Reeve.

A guy named "Roboti" on Superkaos site last week posted pics of his BST CF rims. He was replacing his Marchesini Forged Mag
Doesn't the Dragbike.Com Velocity Turbo 12 use BST CF wheels?

These are all good comments and ?s. The same vendor also wrote that the BST CF Wheels are not DOT approved. If this is true then perhaps his assessment is correct?
This is what he wrote:

savings will be about a total of 9-10 pounds from the stock wheels. To be
quite honest i would highly recommend a set of the Dymag wheels because
they are not only the strongest wheels on the market today because they
are 100% TUV and DOT approved and by the way BST's are not even DOT
approved that's why they are recommended as a track use wheel only, but we
think that the Dymag's are the nicest as far as build quality and fit and
finish! You can get a set of Dymags in a 5 Spoke Magnesium in various
Standard colors like: Gloss Black, Gold, White, or Silver! For an
additional $50.00 per wheel you can have the Following optional colors:

TN 1361 bought a set of carbon Dymags one has a crack in it and leaks air so he sent it to Dymag for further inspection to see if it was a defect or not and Dymag told him the wheel would meet DOT approval but were not approved by Dot.By the way Ricksgsxr what did the guy do with the Marchesini wheels.

Rick.. the DB.com bike has Dymags.
Funny... when I inquired about the wheels TN1361 bought... the original owner traded them to Ryan Schnitz. I think the guy was selling the custom carbons for $1500.
Looks like OZ is the best choice for sub $1500 range.

Turboblew does OZ make a wheel for the 12 now because i called them about a set for my 12 and i was told they didn't . I f they do now thats my first choice.

Im positive they do, cause I was gonna buy some. Talk to Charles at Street and Track or Stedman Motorsports.
The ZX9 application will work on the ZX12 too... you just need to use the stock ZX9 cush drive.
OZ wheels use the stock cush drive assembly.

I wonder the diference in weigth betwen the zx12r and the zx10r whells
maybe that is a improvment for a guy in a budget like me.

I've had my 5 spoke "Racing Magnesium" Dymags for 4 years now; & I love them! Pic of my bike on Fish's site.....

Hello....It was recently brought to my attention that someone was spreading false info on Blackstone Tek carbon fiber wheels and i just wanted to clear things up...First, The statement above is completly false...The zx12 in my opinion is a incredible machine and many of my close friends have 200 plus rear-wheel hp machines where i live(Deals Gap)....There are several 400plus hp turbo zx12 and busa drag bikes running BST wheels.....AND BST wheels are DOT and TUV approved along with ccs,wera,jwl and more.....I cant believe a company would make a false statement on a public board like this because they dont sell a product.....Dymag,marvic,marchesini are all great products and ive run all of them......Blackstone has a very informative website for those interested.....I am currently looking at a set of BST wheels for a zx12 that i just recieved so i know they are still being made.....Trust me, if a manufactuer was even remoteley concerned that a wheel would break, there would be none anywhere because one failure would bankrupt the company.....Ride safe all and god bless.......
