foot pegs on swingarm spool??
Anyone try putting foot pegs on their swingarm spools? (ZX-12 that is) I was staring at my bike this weekend and that idea popped in my head. (6 hours to kill in between runs kinda makes the mind wander.) I noticed that the swingarm spool mounts are in the perfect spot for some hard footpegs for dragracing. (assuming you have an air shifter.) That way you can inch forward and just pull up your feet. Plus, having your feet there automatically puts you in a tuck. So, the inflexible people like me don't have to pop up just to get our legs on the regular pegs.
The peg on the right side would have to be a bit longer to clear the pipe, but it looks good. I was just concerned about whether or not the spool mounts are strong enough since they are only welded on two sides.
If you have done it, can you please post pics? If not, what do you think of this idea?

I almost forgot to mention that I've been wanting to put lower pegs on my bike for a while now, and I haven't been able to figure out how to do it until now. I saw that Muzzys put pegs on the underbracing of their swingarm. I don't have underbracing, so I thought that the swingarm spools would work.

Too close to the wheel/chain/sprocket for my tastes. But that's a kneedraggers perspective. The Drag guys seem to be comfy doing it.

Are you saying that you have seen it done?

Unfortunetly yes.... Honest story. Saw a guy who welded 4 spools together (each side) and stuck a longer bolt in and raced it that way at Palmdale. Frightning...

What was frightening? The Jerry-rigged footpegs or the fact that he was racing in Palmdale?
