Muzzy clutch...

I just installed my muzzy clutch and basket. I noticed my cable adjustment was all the way tight. Makes the cable pull at an awkward angle at the clutch puller on the engine. Anyone else have this problem?

You need to have some play at both ends of the cable (the lever and clutch case). This ensures that the clutch is grabbing as much as it can and it's not slipping. With tension on the cable, the clutch may be slipping under hard load

Make SURE that the puller actuator is properly fitted on the puller. The angle is different but not radically so. Start over and check everything.

Starting Over..

Like Doug said sometimes the best trick is to start over and double check everything. I normally leave out the two bolts that retain the clutch cover cable holder until last that way everything slips together easier. Starting with the clutch adjustment set in the middle position on the bar I then begin adjusting the cable at the clutch cover until I get the proper feel. Sometimes a trip or two around the neighborhood is necessary to get everything "seated" proplerly and a minor final adjustment will be required after the first couple miles. Hope this helps...

It feels OK. I just don't like the angle that my cable is going to the lever. Hope it doesn't prematurly wear out my cable.
