we (I) need you're help to sort out how effective an increase in the size of the snorkel is likely to be on the 00 thru 01 12's. see topic carbon snorkel started by harpoon for reference. has muzzy experimented with a larger or repositioned snorkel? i may be wrong but it seems to me that there is more involved than simply making the opening and runners larger here. the pictures of the bikes you ran at bonnieville appear to have standard ram air systems externally, did they? at what point do you feel the standard ram air system becomes restrictive? other than the ram air inlet size, position, and the design of the ducts, the area of the openings into the airbox appear to restrict maximum airflow.

IMHO, I don't think the system is restrictive at all, under any conditions. The opening in the front of the '00/'01 is good for about 350 hp. The positioning and shape couldn't be much better.

I'm not Doug Meyer, but I did before & after top end tests with the Hans snorkle and saw no difference 201, 201.
On a related note, I was getting a pretty consistent 151.50 mph in 1/4 (w/snorkle), then I "washed" my K&N filters in brake cleaning fluid, removed all the oil (dried with shop vac) and got 151.95.

Testing/Comparison
I offered to do top speed testing and before/after comparisons with the aftermarket snorkels under qualified conditions at the East Coast Timing Association Maxton Mile events but received no response from the manufacturers. Until it is proven I can't justify the expense. Looks kinda cool though
