Has anyone ever used the quick release chin snaps and what was your impression?

never used butmy impression is this
"Quick Release" has no place where helmet is concerned, you want that bloody thing to stay RIGHT where it is at no matter what happens. you don't want the "Quick Release" to release too quickly in a bad situation
there was a kid killed sunday from another forum i visit, his helmet was 15 feet off the roadway along with a shoe. he was in the middle of the road.
He was dead before they could airlift him out.
Perhaps he would have still died if the helmet had stayed put, but with it off, there was no chance. not with the collision he took.
NOTE: i do not know if he had quick release or just a poor-fitting helmet. the point is how important that small piece of plastic/foam is to you.
another pointed reminder that helmet fit is paramount. it must NOT slide off your head from back or front, or any other way. TRY to get it off when it is strapped. remember the road/trees/shrubs don't care what your threshold of pain is when THEY try to rip your helmet off you. be brutal. be safe

Just a little tip for you regarding putting on a helmet. I always keep my chin strap looped together. I just loosen it enough to rotate it forward (with both of my thumbs) while I take off or put on my helmet. It may seem difficult at first but after a while it becomes second nature.
This way the strap is awlays connected and all you have to do is pull it tight. It can even be done with gloves on. No more fumbling to get it looped together.
Now you have no need for those clips right?
