Ft Stewart GA when I left in Jan the 93 Octne gas was 1.43, here in Ft Knox KY yesterday the 93 was 1.68 a gallon....I got spoiled in GA, they had the cheapest gas prices around. Anyone that travels in , or through GA form other parts of the country will see that thye are about the best on gas prices. I travel up and down throught the south east and am alwasy happy to get to GA cause the prices fall drastically compared to states that border on it.
Some of the worse pricing I have seen in and around here is in Michigan, they were at 2.20 a gallon for 93 the last time I went up there which was the end of January.
Have you all looked at the pump lately. IN GA we were paying .38 in taxes on every gallon of gas. Here in KY it is up to .52 per gallon....OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK? I sure dont see it around here the quality of the roads blows.....

Does the octane number really matter? And if so, is there really anything to gain by adding octane booster to your bike's fuel supply?

Beans - yes, the Octane number really matters. Octane booster is an iffy proposition if you plan on supposedly buying regular and 'boosting' it to premium. Most guys buy booster and add it to premium.

muaahah - here in nuke jersey the prices for 87 are about 1.60~1.75 per gallon - AND ITS THE LAW THAT THEY PUMP IT FOR YOU . of course, on bikes they usually let you pump (and bend the law a bit).

This is friggin ridiculous. What's criminal about it is that the Governments wont do a damn thing to help out.
Don't they realize or care that fuel prices affect everything that we use? From bikes to food, it all has to be shipped so we'll be looking at increases everywhere.
Thankfully I've got some money in an American account to use while riding in the US this year, so at least I'll be keeping some of the outrageous taxes they charge here on gas out of their hands.
