The physics of a speeding motorcycle and light

If your bike is a ray of light, and light always travels at 186kmps, and that light it is traveling away from a motorcycle that is traveling at 150mph at Laguna Seca, then how fast is the light traveling compared to the ground? We know it is traveling away from the motorcycle at 186kmps, so we would think that is traveling at 186,150mps, right? Nope. Is has been proven that light ALWAYS travels at the same speed no matter what. Light, then, is like a motorcycle that you can never catch up to. It is going 186kmps and if you are behind it trying to catch up, no matter how fast you go the light will always be going 186kmph away from you. In the same analogy, if your friend is riding in the opposite direction as you while you are trying to catch up to the light which is moving away from you, then that light is also moving at 186kmph away from your friend, and you! Does that make sense?

The moral of the story is this: Light always travels at the same constant speed no matter whom you are or which way you're going relative to it.

Now what does all that means regarding time and space?

i'v never quite bought that particular theory. just don't make any sense. either it's wrong, or there's more to the story than is normally told.

it means that if you are going at 150 mph that you theoretically could never out run you lights becuase the light it traveling at 186,000 mps right....WRONG.....dont believe me, try it....lmfao

Now if the light is being reflected or emitted from YOUR vehicle...then yes...its always traveling at 186kmps away from you in all directions.

However its also traveling towards you..if it wasnt..you wouldnt be able to see it.

Can you ever outrun the pretty red and blue lights on the car behind you?

Hmmm....I cant say I agree with you on the notion that the red and blue lights are "pretty".....at least not in my experiences.
