At Talladega, in the infield, Wes Cooley had just passed me in the 1982 1000 R Yoshimura Suzuki and lost it in a big way and was off the bike on "Both" sides at one time or another and the last thing I saw was him throwing himself back onto the seat as I went past. Wendy Epstein (From San Francisco one of the 2 girl Super Bike riders, Carter Alsop was the other one) and I had to slow up to watch and spoke to each other after the race. Usually I gas it when someone is in trouble, but this time, it was waaay too much entertainment to miss. This was before the time of Randy's great save

Slug, it was in Assen Holland! it was unbelieveable. In SLow Mo, there is a point where he is actually in "FRONT" of the bike and a time where he is off the back of the bike and then other times where he is laid over the tank and finally he bull dogs the bike to get it under control and hops back on the Bike and rides away!

Vince - you naughty man. You were the one hanging out with Wendy & Carter.... Wendy is my buddy. But Carter was a babe. She went on to monkey on my former sidecar partner's rig. She was really good on those also.

I miss racing Talladega. You could actually cut the chicane (through the dirt) and the only one who cared was the guy behind getting roosted on!! Kinda like a 180 mph SuperMotard race!

Remember one of my best friends was Richard Chambers who Carter was friends with also! Wendy was more my kind of person because she was a regular person doing all of the work she could where Carter was more the Movie Star that could ride fast (But not front of the pack fast). At that time, this was a new thing. I could not remember the name of the other girl that raced in Europe and had a TZ 500 GP Bike and rode real smooth! I think she was the wife of the guy from Pennsylvania that rode the Harley 250 water cooled twin and crashed real hard at Danville last year and the AMA took it's time in getting help to him "William Himmelsbach" . I think his wife's name was Gina!
