Designing a system?

Please before you click the following link, this post has a HUGE amount of feedback. It goes three pages deep and is just insanely informative.

I was reading this on slashdot, and I'm curious what some of you might think after reading the problem and proposed solutions. I think its rather interesting in a practical real-world way.

You need to get away from the computer once in a while.

Oh, we sell and support diagnostic grade radiology imaging systems that store and retreive huge amounts if image data and combine and display the image data with a total electronic medical record. It's a bit more complicated than the security camera at your 7-11, and it works too.
