Back to business! Working on the ZX12R
I have been working with Randall on the parts I need to make the engine hold up to what "We" Plan to put it through, and it looks like about another $1,200 to got the Job done.
STD Size MTC Pistons (Forged)
Ti APE Valve spring retainers
Valve Springs (15 pound more seat presure, maybe a shim?)
Special Head Gasket (Do not have the spelling) List $71.00
Same company base gasket
Nos Bottle Blanket
MCR Rear tire
Ape Studs and nuts (to hold down the head & Cylinder)
Other than "Eventually" a progressive controller, anyone see anything I missed to run between 70 to 150 HP NOS?
I am keeping the pistons Standard so that the cylinder walls will be thicker and the head gasket will have more surface to grip. Also at the end of this season, my thinking is to put in a spacer plate and I will be ready for a turbo Kit made by the Muzz man himself. Remember when you are "po" but do not want to cut any corners, that you must look waay ahead!
Side note, when I had to do the complete engine on my ZX11 after I sold it! Randall was also the one that ordered all of the parts and did such a job that even I could not complain. (He has more nerve than me, because I would not want to deal with me!!

The trick here is "Spending the LEAST amount of money possible and still have flexibility". This will bring me up to about $3,500 for my Land speed racing project. If you remove the amount spent for the Seat, Tank and Tires, I will be at about $2,500 which is $500 over budget fpr NOS.
I am also hoping that doing it the "Way" I am doing it will save me from spending some extra money when I get to Muzzy Turbo system. I will already have the stronger studs, valve springs and retainers and just maybe using a spacer on the base will save me from another set of Pistons.
Another thought is that if I can figure out a "Good" Way to seal the air box where the lines come in for the NOS, then I will have the possibility of Turbo NOS which should make enough power "Even for me"!
