Help! Bike won't run!!!!!!!!!!
FI light won't go out. Bike won't idle. I disconnected the PCIIIR. Now for a little background. I disconnected the ECU to install on my undertail that has'nt arrived yet. ( another story) I wanted to run the motor a little to circulate the new coolant I just put in. I connected the ECU, rolled it outside and tried to start it. When I first turned the key on, I did'nt here the fuel pump cycle. I turned it off and on again a few times and finally got the fuel pump to cycle. After I started it The FI light did'nt turn off and the bike would not idle at all like it was starving for fuel. I disconnected the PCIII in thinking that was the problem because when you turn the ignition on, and turn the throttle, you supposed to see the green LED light on the PCIII rise and fall with the turning of the throttle. Well, It don't do that. Ever since I disconnected the ECU, and connected it again is when all this started. I hope someone out there can help.

ECU
No. I did disconnect the battery after all this happened. Checked all the connectors, Hooked up the battery again, and the bike started up fine. The FI light will not go out though. The PCIIIR seems to work fine now. I have the shop manual and did a "Self-Diagnosis" 2-54 in manual. From what I found, It says there is a fault with the air pressure sensor. ( 2-59 in manual) There is a section to check the ECU for trouble, but I have not got that far yet.

ECU checked out o.k.
I checked the ECU out with my multimeter. 4.99 vdc. So it's o.k. Now I'm going to check the pressure sensor. Keep you all posted.

I sure don't. I don't think they cost TOO much though. There is another one at the back of your bike. That one is for outside pressure readings. When your airbox gets pressurized (ram air working) the ecm see's the differnce between the two (outside and airbox/manifold pressure) and compensates with more fuel and or timing accordingly. I believe they are the exact same piece....the one in the back just has a hose attached to it. If you have a chance you could switch them to see if your FI light goes off. Of course the ecm might still see it as bad even though it is in the back now and still give you a fault code. Worth a try maybe?

Pressure sensor bad
WARBIRD, I checked the input and output voltage in the ECU and the pressure sensor. From the readings I get on my multimeter, It seems the pressure sensor is bad. The output voltage is too high. Replacement cost for it is $90 to my door.

Well...thats not to bad a price....considering what some other things cost for the 12. Did you try switching them just for giggles?

Pressure sensor bad
I'm not gonna take any more chances. I don't want to screw anything more up! If I switch those two, Who knows what else will happen. I don't want to replace an ECU. They cost $512.00
