ZX12R Wheel Sizes

Does anyone have the wheel width required for the ZX12? I think it is 3.5" on the front and 5.5" on the rear, but need to know for sure.

Thanks in advance, Ray

A leading wheel company is selling a rear wheel for the ZX12R and it shows it to be 5.5" wide. I sent an email to them to explain what the deal is, either their ad is wrong on the application is wrong if the size is 6".

Thanks, Ray

Would this leading company be RC Comp?? If so, those are billet wheels (heavier than stock), not performance ones. The spun aluminum (performance) are 6.25" wide. (and lighter than stock)

Oh.... chicanes...whata joke.

Try going with Oz, Dymag, or Marchisini's... you'll be much happier.

Looking only to confirm the STOCK rear wheel width, if anyone knows for sure. If 6" is for sure the stock width, then I have to go back to LP to discuss but would like to buy the wheel if 5.5" is the stock size.

6 is stock wheel width. My RC Comp rear wheel is 6.25 wide.

As side note Turbo Blew there is an RC Comp dealer. He will hook ya up on some nice wheels...

ZXLNT, thanks for confirming the stock wheel size. I ran across a couple of new, spun aluminum wheels for 1/3 the retail price, but have not decided one way or the other yet. They are listed as wheels for a ZX12, but if it sounds like that is not true if the rear width is 5.5".

If its those "clearance specials" you see poping up on Ebay from time to time..... dont bother. They are production blems.
Sure you can go to a 5.5 wheel on the back... but why? A 180mm tire fits fine on the stock 6.0" wheel and gives the same benefit as going a smaller width rim. (for transition purposes)

Thanks for the update and information. I sent a message to the seller that the 5.5" is not what I need for a ZX12, as the stock one is 6". Kind of surprising that a company dealing with wheels on a daily basis would do this, but the ad may be a typo, so I will give them the benefit of a doubt.

Thanks again for your help.
