Thats Awesome, I Love It!!!
For those of you that really do need a vehicle bigger than a Suburban or Excursion, check this out...
Last year I bought a 2003 Chevy Express 3500 extended WB 15 passenger Van!!!...I ordered it from the Chevy dealer exactly to my likeing...It's not a 4x4, have leather heated seats, navigation, OnStar, or dual climate control, who needs that crap anyway...I paid 29,100.00 for the van + tax, regi...
I use it as a 8 passenger removing the 2nd & 4th row seats, the amount of roominess now blows away the Suburban, Hummer, Excursion!!!...The best part of the Van is when I remove the 3rd row seat I put in my ZX12, tools, ramp, cooler for the trips to the DragStrip!!!...Lets see an SUV do that for under 30,000.00!!!

Eh..well...I wanted a jeep to go play in the mud and whatnot with some friends...and with traveling and all most of my vehicles just sit unused. Its not like I would ever consider it as a daily driver
With the prices these days down into the mid 20s...I thought it would be an interesting weekend toy ____________

I don't know Mike, I've seen that excursion. That thing is a beast. I don't even think it would fit in my garage...

I HATE anti-SUV people. All I ever hear from those Turd-Burglers is "nobody NEEDS an SUV". Yeah, well check this out:
1. I am 6' 3" tall 230 LBS and my gf is 6'2" tall 145 lbs (don't tell her I posted her weight).
2. I have a 1/4 mile long hilly driveway that is GRAVEL
3. I live on a ski mountain - right now, by friends with "lesser" cars than SUV's have to park at the end of my driveway, so that I can drive them to the house. Poor ass pussies .
4. Yes, I ride motorcycles - and I ACTUALLY TOW SHIT WITH MY VEHICLE (motorcycles, boats, chained up SUV haters... )

"most people" don't need an SUV. there are relatively few examples of people who do. you would seem to be one of em. BUT, reasons #1, 2, and 3 do not necessitate an SUV. there are cars that could deal with those. but assuming u tow a larger boat, #4 is valid. trailering a couple bikes on teh other hand? i know from direct experience that a crown vic can handle that quite well as usaul tho, those that DO have valid reasons for SUVs get a bad repuation/image from the masses who drive them for no other reason than image and a selfish sense of security (selfish in that it's safer for them, but more dangerous for everyone else). just like we all suffer from a bad rap cause of idiot bikers (even tho damn near all of us were prolly idiot bikers at some point )

BAH - I've yet to see a car make it up my driveway in the winter (yes - I have a service that plows). Even a good 4x4 car can't do it Subies die about 1/2 way up and my buds all bitch that I need to "pave my friggin mess". Screw em all - buy SUV's and STFU . SOrry guys, I've been in a FOUL mood lately, I"M dieting down and workin too hard .

damn, if a 4wd car like a subaru cant handle it, that's one nasty driveway!! frankly i'd met many suv's cant make it either in that case (and i'm not talkin about 2wd suvs). but here's what really matters... does ur 12 make it up ok?

- the '12 goes away for the winter . Actually, last year I got a little "Self Store" so that I could drive during the winter - my gal and I have nice heated gerbing suits and they worko fantastic for the cold. This year, I decided to save some $$ and I put her to bed for the winter (the '12 not my gal ). Right about now I'm JONESING FOR A RIDE !. The Subies usually die on ground clearance or ice. I think the extra clearance and weight of my explorer and expedition make the difference. It's kinda fun listening to my buds who tell me their new "Forester" or "WRX" are "just as good" as the big SUV's in the snow bla bla bla - I won 200 bucks on 2 bets last year... AND have pix of pulling the subies out . I'll prolly pave the driveway in a year or so (THAT is gonna cost a few bucks) and that will help, but for now - I have a good little 4X4 proving ground .

BTW - I am retiring my old '93 Expedition this year. Its been a FANTASTIC car and it has 255,000 miles on it. At this point, its ready to die (bad head gasket etc etc etc) but I SURE got my money out of it! If only SUV's got better gas milage . I wonder when the "hybrid" SUV's will be ready to purchase?

2005 model for the hybrid toyota highlander. my father has a 2003 highlander limited and it's a pretty dern nice unit. not too big, not too small. nice looking inside and out too. the hybrid is gonna be sweet too. 270hp and 30mpg. not too shabby. i believe they'r gonna release their lexus rx500 (or whatever it's called) hybrid in 2005 too.
re the explorer, can't say i was impressed by it. father had one before the highlander. it was too big, rode like shit, didnt handle as well, and had no more usable space. quality was definitely lesser too. suspension was hard as a rock too. who the hell makes a "sport" model on a truck chassis offroad vehicle?!? how paradoxial is that?

I have nothing against the SUV's, they just arent for me, I want a truck....do I haul stuff with it, on occasion..On the move from GA to here in KY I had both 600's in the back of my truck and pulled my 18ft trailer behind it. The truck and trailer loaded weighed in at 13,000lbs. I just hit the Tow/haul button in the old 2500HD and drove away. I averaged about 11 MPG on the way here with it. If I had a bunch of kids I would consider the 3/4tn Suburban, but I dont. My 2500HD actually got better gas mileage than my wifes 1500 did. She pulled a 14ft trailer with it and grossed about 11,000lbs. but tha poor 1500 was working its ass off to haul it.
The truck works for me, that way if I wanna go to the track, or to the mountains riding, I dont have to take the trailer, I can just load the bike in the back of the truck, something I obvioulsy couldnt do in an SUV. Just my .02 worth. All vehicles have their purpose, but realistically, we buy on impulse as well as function.
Hence the reason I want to trade the 2500HD in on a 3500HD Deisel Dually...do I need it, absolutely not, do I want it, yer fukn eh right I do.....lol

NICE HDL! I get about 14 Mpg in my 2000 expedition.. . I think I better wait for the hybrid highlander - I would KILL for a 30MPG SUV!!!
LOL on the crappy aspects of the explorer freek - yeah, it was a rough move to an SUV from a zippy little GTi, but hey - thats why I have a '12, to go fast and turn great .
