RUNNING RICH, #3 FOULING PLUG

I'm out of ideas.... I've had this problem for the better part of 2003. My gas mileage is down to 106 mi a tank. So I sent it to RON AYERS of Greenville NC. They gave it the ole college try, but at best, they are guessing I have a leaky injector. The following service was performed:

-No failure codes stored or in history on bike's computer.
-Found all spark plugs fouled initally (replaced plugs)
-found no faults with DFI/EIC systems
-Timing and cam pulse chec to specs in service manual
-bike is california emission model
-Plug 1&2 seem dark/rich, plug 3&4 are damp
-compression test
cyl #1 240 psi #2 195 psi #3 220 psi #4 225 psi
-evidence of leaking injector on number 3 cylinder, injector only seems to lead down slightly after bike is shut off.

Is there anyone that has this problem or has anyone changed out an injector?

Stupid question.... but how do the air filters look? Anything stuck in the intake?
Someone like RC Engineering or Marren Motorsports could spec an injector for to see if it is leaking. Its a pain to get the injectors out though.

Filters are o.k., they were clean in accordance with the manual. The tech at Ron Ayers said my problem isn't that bad, but it bothers me. Does RC eng or Marren have a website or contact info.

damn, that place is 2 towns over from me and I never heard of them before.I was wondering if all 4 ignition coils have a common ground?#2 piston looks a little suspicious.

Aliveagain, I was looking at the wiring diagram for the US/Canada model A1 (page 15-67 svc manual) and it looks like the coils have a common ground labeled with a BOLD "R"

AG, if you happen to use their services, could u post the results? One of the techs said they change about $35.00 each injector and it would have to be removed from the throttle body assy.

Ive used them before.
Marren gives you a "before and after" comparison. Went from 65ccs on some injectors... to 82ccs.
Had a set cleaned for my buddies old FI 750 and it made a world of difference.
$35? Musta went up... used to be $25 per injector... about 1yr ago.

I suspect that DIY'ers could use a 9volt battery and a graduated beaker to see how much the injector flows.

nah, not really. I suggest tilting the motor foward, but leaving the bottom mount bolt in. Unless you have really small hands.
Probably about 90mins to get em out.

Use the instructions in the KHI service book and pull the rail.

It slides out the throttle side easily W/O moving the engine.

At that point, the injectors come off the rail easily.

Send the Injectors to RC Engineering.
