head work.is it worth it?
i found a great deal from a friend of mine to do my heads.
i am thinking about doing a port job on the heads, valve springs,5 angle job etc..
i have a reputable mechanic i can use but first wanted some input from some of you that have had it done.
i know thre's not too much h.p in it but, how much h.p gain am i looking at without going into the pistons?
where will the h.p be most noticable?down low?

I have always heard that the 12 head is hard to improve on. Has to be done by someone who really knows what they are doing because it is easy lose hp.
Would like to know if anyone has ever tried oversize valves also. Anything to be gained by using them ?

hey you guys ping kcadby, he might be able to give you some insight on that....if you are looking for more power I am assuming that you already have the basics pipe PC, filter....what about cams? Lighter wheels will give you the feeling of more power, and better handleing as well...just some ideas

I personally dont think spending several hundred dollars on "porting" and a valve job is worth the money.
You would get far more HP per dollar spent if you went with a set of pistons and bore the cylinder out.
If you are running 1300-1400 cc's then you might bennifit more from better/bigger valves and some port work.
