Rick, about a week ago, the dealer sheet I saw said that one was supposed to arrive this month, eight in Feb. and six in March. I think they ordered 20 in all. When one or any of them actually arrive, you guess is as good as mine. It just all depends on when the distribution hub has a shipment coming this way on I-40.
With my luck, it'll show up towards the end of next week while I'm out of town and after I have minor surgery on my left (shifter) big toe. My dealer's GM, my salesman and everyone in the shop are under STRICT instructions NOT to even touch the crate after it's unloaded until I get there (have a vacation day set for the day it arrives). If it arrives while I'm out of town, I'm afraid the owner will do something stupid like uncrate it and put it on the showroom floor to "display" until I get back.
I seriously doubt one will get here before the end of this month. The sheets sent to the dealer can say what ever they want, but it's hardly an accurate indicator of when one will actually get here. Also, these sheets don't indicate what the color is, VIN or anything like that. I thought they used to send that info when it was actually in transit, but I don't know if they still do that (or ever did).
In the case of my 12R, the final sheet with actual delivery date and such arrived the day after my bike got here. Sometimes, when the dealer gets their copy of the model's service manual and updated parts CD, it would be a sure sign that certain model was on it's way there. Even that doesn't count anymore. They got the manual on the Vulcan 2000 weeks ago and nothing on the 10R. Neither of the bikes have made it to his showroom.
Even the fact that he's about to order (if he hasn't already) 140 MULEs and is still the region's #1 dealer (for six years straight), none of it will have any effect on how quick my 10R gets here. All the same, if it ain't green, I won't care what they do with it. I'll just have to wait until a green one gets here.
