If it says 185 on the speedometer...
If one is flying down the road and it says 185 on the speedometer of a bone stock zx12 how fast would you say you are really going?

about 170ish on the high side....
but if the speedoes are about a tenth off, that still too high.

Kawasaki speedos are about 7 to 8 percent off, Zooks are closer to 10 percent. (Stock)

I wanna know why you're looking at the speedo at 185mph...anyway?
Spend the $100 and get a GPS and record your top speed everytime you ride!

actually the ZX12R is 9% off from the factory with stock gearing that equates to about 169mph. If you have a larger rear sprocket or smaller front sprocket it's even worse!

Yep, 2000-2004 models.. I wasn't aware there was more than one generation 12R LOL they are all the same 9% error with stock gearing.

You're going too fast..., unless "everything is under control, then you're going too slow"
Several Years ago, on the dyno, speedo said 210, dyno said 194 @ 168 hp Which =.92381 x 210, so the same ratio .92381 x 185 = 170.5 mph.
