Cycle Sports of Salem, OR..... ...can kiss my fucking ASS!!!!
I can't believe these lowlife, scumbag, greedy fuckwads.
I call them up to order a few screws, wellnuts, and washers.Plus 22 rotor bolts. It came to 106.50. I bit the bullet and told them to order.
I Immediately got online at Ron Ayers (D'OH) and priced everything. Well , for just over $50.00 , I got more of each part from the previous order, so I called back immediately (approx. 5-7 minutes from the first call) and asked them to cancel that order.
He said there would be a 20% restocking fee!!!
I said " what are you talking about?...you most likely haven't even ordered them yet (going by past experiences).
He says " They were electronically ordered so we can't cancel it".
This from a dealer that I have spent over $100,000.00 at over the last 12 years!!!!!!
I told the kid they just lost a valuable customer.
His reply?......."O.K."
I'm gonna' go in next week and talk to a few I know there, and hopefully the owner, and tell 'em how I REALLY feel.

damn, that's cold. don't think i buy that "can't cancel it" line either. of course they can cancel it, and if it hasnt been picked yet then no loss for them. besides, 20% restocking fee is a little excessive i'd say. hope u get it straightened out

Dino that is crazy, that is way to high for a restocking fee, if they are going to charge it in the first place...I just sent a liner back that wasnt what I wanted. the dealer had special ordered it for me. When it got here and I realized it wasnt what I had wanted they said no problem, and put it on the shelf to be sold, NO COST TO ME! ! !

Hehe... Dino the classic case of a Kawi owner and his dealer...
I wouldnt even piss in a bucket for my local (Regency). I was willing to give them one more chance in April 2000 to make a few $$ by offering $10k OTD for a new 12. The dumbazz sales dweeb said they sell for $13 and used ones werent that cheap. I laughed, told him Id be back in a week with one.
Took my new bike up there to show the dumbass and told him... not only did he lose a sale, but I promised to bad mouth them to everyone I meet and will never ever purchase anything there... PERIOD!

I'm still fuming! It's not the money so much as the principleof the thing.
I'm still saving 20 bucks even after paying a re-stocking fee!
What I don't get is how you have to re-stock something that will never touch your hands.
I can't wait to get there next week.
Usually, if I talk to someone I know, I get a 20% discount plus I don't have to put a deposit down. Everytime I go in there there's almost an entirely new batch of idiots on the floor. Out of maybe 20 people sitting/ standing around, maybe one will know what they're talking about. :cannon blowing off head icon:

Hmmm, sounds like you should have went with Ron Ayers first and then with prices in hand told the dealer to match it if they wanted your business.
My local dealers both are way more than RA, with one dealer being a full 20% higher than the other local dealer.
Neither will match RA, saying they will lose money selling for that price, - BS!
Buy online is my credo, loyalty to the dollar, the same loyalty the dealer has for the customer.

Out of curiosity Ozzy, which dealers do you goto in the Spokane area. I have bought lots of stuff at Roundy's Kawasaki up on Division, and I bought my Vanson jacket at Beaudry's Motorsports in Post Falls.
The Helmet Runner place had good prices, but I noticed one of their stores went out of business at Northtown. One of these days, I need to make it over to the Valley and see if that one is still open.

I have bought bikes at Roundy's and at West Side Motorsports. Roundy's Kawasaki parts prices are 20% higher than West Side.
When I crashed the 12R I priced out parts at Roundy's and West Side then ordered from RA. The bill was just over 50% of what Roundy quoted.
I tried to buy my Z1000 from Roundy, went there first, asked for Michelle. Waited a day went back, talked to owners wife, told her I wanted a bike today, gave her my cell phone number. Her daughter Michelle was spose to call me and let me know if they would do the deal. Waited for 4 hours, never received the call. She could have at least called and said, sorry we won't do the deal.
Stopped at WSM and offered them the same deal. After much "we can't sell for that, you can't buy for that price bs, they looked on CycleTrader.com and saw that Hobi Kawasaki in Roseburg OR. DID sell for that price and they matched it.
Then they offered a 3 yr extended warrantee for $550! Woo Hoo way to try and treat me right, it was a buy it today at this price of lose the offer. Told them Pueblo Motorsports would sell the same thing for $350, they weren't interested in a price match. They were so generous to offer a 10% discount today only with the sale also, wow.
They were friendly, and courteous, the sales kid admitted he didn't even ride bikes but would like to have one when he could afford one. I would buy from either dealer again, if they match the price I can get from another dealer, but my money doesn't go far enough to be "loyal" with anyone.
I can't afford to buy from Beaudry's cuz its either Italian or a Suzuki.
I have price shopped for tires at all the local places and no one even comes close to online buying.
Helmet Runner is still in the Valley Mall. They have turned into a dirt bike helmet shop and a lot of clothes. I tried to get warrantee work for my Arai Quantum through them. They took my info and never returned a call. I stopped in and talked to the skinny chick that is always there, she roetook the info, and they never called! grrrrrrrrrrr.
I stopped at the Arai booth at the Seattle showand asked about the cheek pads in my RX7RR (the one you got booted out of,LOL,) and they gave me a phone number to Arai and one phone call later The parts were shipped free to me. That is what I call service.
Hobi Kawasaki in Roseburg OR is one shop that I have had dealings with that is upfront, honest, and fair priced. To bad they are 650 miles away. I bought the 12R from them, they met me half way and we did the money deal in a parking lot in the rain! I did the whole deal with email and 2 phone calls! Bob Hobi is an example of how all business men should be.
Dino, contact Bob for a price on your 10R.
Dino, now that my blood is boiling thinking about how so many local dealers treat customers, want this big mean bastard to come down and put some whoop ass on your dealer :grin !
Sorry for the long rant, but this old fools blood is boiling, lol.

I ended up buying my 12 from Shumate Motorsports out of the Tricites, WA because Roundys couldnt get the blue 12 from that 2002 model year run.
I agree with you on the extended warranty, the Pueblo Motorsports out of Pueblo, CO is the best, cheapest price for that.
The closest dealer I have to me is Mac's Cycle out of Clarkston, WA, and everything else ends up in Spokane. As much as I hate all the high prices of Beaudrys, I will say they did match the price of the Vanson Cobra jacket when I showed them vanson.com was doing their own sale. I ended up taking the extra $80 bucks I saved there and went ahead and bought the matching liner.
I'll have to check out that West Side Motorsports though, see what they have. Shumate wasnt too bad, it's just a far drive. 35 salesmen though should explain how big the place is though. They have treated me decent, but that's just cause I bought my 12 there.
And I totally agree on tires, EVERYONE charges way too much compared to online prices. Then they want to charge you more for the tire installation and balance just because you didnt buy it from them. It's always something, now my blood is gonna start boiling.
