Yamaha Motor Racing Welcomes New Partner U-Earth for a Breath of Clean Air

2020-08-07 08:58
Staying in line with their ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety certifications, Yamaha Motor Racing welcome new official partner U-Earth Biotech Ltd. The company manufactures reusable U-Masks and air purifiers that will let the Yamaha personnel at the circuits and the YMR headquarters breathe clean air, free from viruses and germs, using a unique biotechnology.

With the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic continuing on a global scale, health and safety, air quality, and excessive waste (from disposable face masks) form a bigger challenge than ever.

Yamaha Motor Racing is pleased to share it has recently started a partnership with U-Earth Biotech. The young company will provide the team with hundreds of customised U-Masks Model 2 containing medical-grade certificated filters, as well as four air purifiers for use in the pit garage, office trailer, and engine maintenance trailer. This means Maverick Viñales, Valentino Rossi, the entire Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team, as well as the corporate Yamaha staff attending the Grand Prix rounds and at work at the YMR headquarters, will be able to go about their business comfortably and safely, knowing they are covered.

U-Earth‘s #BreatheTheFuture mission all started when they went into the wild and observed how "safe bacteria" clean air by digesting contaminants. They then aimed to replicate that perfectly natural process to purify air from pollution and viruses, using cutting-edge biotech to naturally destroy air pollution. Their products are available for everyday corporations as well as ’high-risk professional settings‘, from hospitals to heavy industries.

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, U-Earth have organised the #WarToCovid campaign to help hospitals. They created the U-Mask Model 2, a product also available to the public. This mask received the Seal of Excellence by the European Commission in relevance to Covid-19. Part of the profit of the U-Mask Model 2 is used to donate Pure Air Zones to hospitals.

With the partnership between U-Earth and Yamaha going into effect at the Czech Republic, the U-Earth logo can already be spotted on the specially designed Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP and corporate Yamaha Factory Racing staff U-Masks.

First of all, I want to say ’Welcome!‘ to U-Earth. Yamaha Motor Racing and U-Earth were recently introduced to each other and we immediately discovered that we share the same cardinal principles for sustainable technological development while respecting the environment and the health of the people who have to be able to do their work.

"The development of a partnership between YMR and U-Earth was a logical step that first of all will take shape in the form of YMR personnel using the U-Masks Model 2 during the 2020 MotoGP season, with the aim of guaranteeing safety and comfort for the staff working at the circuits and at the headquarters.

"The U-Mask concept is very interesting to us, because it meets environmental sustainability criteria (filter life and its disposal), which is one of our objectives at YMR, because our activities are certified and comply with the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System.

"The second step, the installation of four air purifiers, helps us deal with GP air quality concerns in three different areas (pit garage, office trailer, and in the engine maintenance trailer). Thanks to the application of biotechnology, we will be guaranteed sanitization of the contaminated air. It will be cleansed from viruses, bacteria and other agents to improve the quality of the environment in which YMR personnel operate.

"The use of the air purifiers is an important step in view of the improvement objectives in the ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety at work context within which YMR's operational activities are measured and certified.

2020 will always be remembered as the year of Corona virus, of the pandemic. However, we cannot forget another important emergency: the climate change caused by pollution.

"I am very happy about this partnership with Yamaha Motor Racing, a company that is very careful about its employees‘ health as well as its environmental impact.

"With this partnership, we are able to show the world that it is possible to fight the virus and to destroy emissions, at the same time, with the same biotechnology.
Thanks to YMR, we are now one step closer to fulfilling our ambitious mission: offering clean air to every human being.
