Folger hampered by lack of bike time at Brno

Jonas Folger will start tomorrow’s Czech Grand Prix Moto2 race at the Automotodrom Brno from 29th, after a challenging first day on the PETRONAS Sprinta Racing bike. Stepping into action only this morning to replace the injured Khairul Idham Pawi, wet conditions at the Czech circuit made life even harder for the German.

Unable to find the good feeling in the rain he enjoyed last time out at the German Grand Prix, he’s nonetheless confident that if he and his team make full use of tomorrow’s warm-up session they can improve on his qualifying position and enjoy a strong race.

Tomorrow’s 19-lap Moto2 race at the Automotodrom Brno gets underway at 1220 local time (1820 Malaysian time).

“I don’t know why we weren’t able to find the feeling in the rain, because in the Sachsenring we were right there. Normally I have confidence in the rain, but today I just couldn’t find it at all. For me it’s not acceptable to be four seconds behind because I’m not four seconds slower, so we need to find the problem and solve it. We need to continue working from the strong session in FP3 in the dry, and tomorrow’s warm-up will be more important than ever. Starting today on the bike means I’ve lost time so we need to use that session to make the right steps.”
