Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Cianciarulo Ready To Bounce Back at Sandy Southwick2019-06-27 03:12
The Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki riders will welcome cooler conditions this weekend as the series hits its halfway point at The Wick 338 in Southwick, Massachusetts. For the first time this season, Adam Cianciarulo settled for an overall podium finish rather than a win and he’s determined to retake the top step. Teammate Martin Davalos will continue to push through his lingering injuries to go after a top finish at the notorious sand track.
Cianciarulo has continually proven he’s able to bounce back and will look to make quick work of that comeback this weekend. A good start will be important in the sandy conditions and he has his sites set on grabbing his first holeshot of the season. With five rounds complete, Cianciarulo holds an 18-point lead coming into the halfway mark of the season.
“Southwick is a very unique track compared to the others we face,” said Cianciarulo. “I know there are a few riders that excel on a track like that so I’ll have to make sure we are on it all day. Starts are always important, and it would be nice if we can get out front early.”
Davalos hasn’t been able to put in the results he’s come to expect from his riding, but what many people don’t realize is how he’s still riding with the side effects from previous injuries. The Ecuadorian isn’t one for throwing in the towel and will continue to push after a top result this weekend.
“I’ve been hoping my endurance would help me a little more but the numbness and pain I get while racing makes it hard to be aggressive,” said Davalos. “I don’t want to give up and I want to be out there giving it my all, even if I’m not at 100 percent.”
The Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki riders will be signing autographs at the team semi-truck on Saturday, June 29. Head to the truck in the pits to collect a mandatory wristband for the signing, usually around 9 a.m.
Saturday’s race from the Southwick National will be broadcast on MAVTV and NBC Sports starting June 29 at 1 p.m. ET with second motos delayed. All racing can be found live using NBC Gold subscription.
