Mattia Pasini makes progress in Barcelona test

After making his official Grand Prix debut for PETRONAS Sprinta Racing Moto2 last weekend at Le Mans, Mattia Pasini undertook two days of testing at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit this week, continuing working on the setup of his Kalex bike and preparing for the Italian GP.

Although rain on Tuesday forced a slight change to the plan for the test, Pasini and PETRONAS Sprinta Racing made the most of their two days at the Spanish circuit. The team tried out several different setups, with the aim of adapting the bike to the Italian rider's preferences and found important improvements in braking stability and corner entry. They also worked on chassis configurations to find the best grip level when coming out of corners. Pasini leaves the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit feeling confident after completing more than 100 laps.

The PETRONAS Sprinta Racing rider now awaits the Italian Grand Prix, which takes place at Mugello from May 31st to June 2nd.

#54 Mattia Pasini
"This has been a very important test, since it is my first after learning about the bike more thoroughly during a race weekend. The biggest task we have addressed is trying to understand how the bike works, how it reacts and the different options we have for different setups. We have also improved the front end, which was something that I still needed to fine tune. We've done a very good job, without looking for a quick lap, but instead putting in many laps with used tyres to try to gather as much data as possible. After this test we go to Mugello with a clearer idea of how we want the bike to be."
