Khairul Idham Pawi in good form ahead of Grand Prix of The Americas2019-04-09 10:31
PETRONAS Sprinta Racing rider goes to Circuit of The Americas off the back of earning his first points of the season in Argentina.
The 2019 Moto2 World Championship action rolls on this weekend, as the PETRONAS Sprinta Racing team take on the Grand Prix of The Americas. Khairul Idham Pawi arrives in Texas having had a positive weekend last time out in Argentina, claiming his first three points of the season in the second round.
The Malaysian rider made significant progress at the last GP, continuing an upward trend since the start of the season in Qatar. KIP fought back through the field and showed that he can achieve good results in the intermediate class. At Austin, where he finished 25th in 2018, the PETRONAS Sprinta Racing rider will focus much of his work on improving his performance in qualifying - a key component to facing the race with greater possibilities of finishing higher up the order.
The 18-lap Moto2 GP of The Americas will take place on Sunday, April 14th at 12:20pm local time.

"After Argentina we went directly to the United States, where we have been training with the team and I have also practiced on a bike. We have also taken the opportunity to relax a little in our free time. The Circuit of The Americas is one of the toughest of the season: The first part of the track is very technical and last year I found it very difficult. For this Grand Prix we will work hard to improve my feeling on the track and try to have a good weekend. My goal for this weekend is to get into the points again and above all improve my qualifying performance so that we can start the race from a good position. We had a strong race pace in Argentina; I'm confident we can repeat that at Austin."
