Winter Training Camp: the Junior Talent Team get 2019 in gear

It’s a Junior Talent Team tradition now to head over to Montmeló in February for a Winter Training Camp and 2019 was no different, with the JTT youngsters put through their paces over three full days. Designed to show the riders how hard the professionals train – and how hard they’ll have to train – it’s tough but valuable preparation for the season.

Each day of the Camp began with a 100km cycle in the hills around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and then it was back to hitting the gas as the team got suited and booted for motocross and flat track – common disciplines throughout the paddock for riders to stay sharp on the bike outside race weekends. Before the season begins, being “bike ready” can be crucial.

Talent Promotion Director Alberto Puig was on hand at the Camp, as well as 250 World Champion Hiroshi Aoyama, new JTT coordinator Alex Baldolini and Dani Ribalta and Diego Lozano; coaches for the team, the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup and the British Talent Cup – making sure the riders have the best coaching and advice as they get ready for the season.

That season kicks off at the Circuito do Estoril from the 5th to 7th April for Round 1 of the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ Junior World Championship, tune in to see if the JTT can start the season with a bang!
