PETRONAS Sprinta Racing rider kicks off three-day test at Sepang International Circuit as work continues to develop Kalex machine with new Triumph engine.

After playing host to the official MotoGP preseason test last week, the Sepang International Circuit was again a hive of activity today as Khairul Idham Pawi and his technical staff got back to work on their Kalex Moto2 bike, fitted with the new Triumph engine. Today was the first day of three for the Malaysian here at his home track, as he continued to adapt to his new bike ahead of the upcoming season.

Khairul Idham Pawi was happy with the job done today after completing 71 laps at Sepang, initially focusing on the new engine before moving on to the chassis, geometry and suspension set-up. The Malaysian progressively improved his lap time throughout the day, making a notable step forward with his pace.

Testing continues tomorrow and Wednesday for the PETRONAS Sprinta Racing rider at his home track, the Sepang International Circuit.

#89 Khairul Idham Pawi
“I am really happy to get back on the bike after such a long break without being able to do so. Today we worked mainly on the electronics, the suspension and the clutch. We improved my lap time with every run and that is a positive for the whole team. I am satisfied with the job we have done and tomorrow we will continue trying to improve the set-up of the bike.”
