Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki Looking to Keep Up Momentum at Washougal MX Park

After a successful Round 8, Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Joey Savatgy is ready to keep the momentum in his favor as the series takes over Washougal MX Park outside Portland, Oregon. Adam Cianciarulo knows he’s capable of a top finish at the picturesque track, while Oregonian Justin Hill is looking forward to bouncing back in front of his hometown crowd. Austin Forkner will be taking the weekend off to continue recuperation from an injury during practice last week.

Savatgy was on his game last weekend as he claimed his second win of the season and plans to stay on the gas before heading into the final break of the season. With both the win and his previous results giving him extra confidence, Savatgy is set to bring Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki another victory.

“I’ve always enjoyed the challenges of the Washougal track,” said Savatgy. “A good start is definitely important here as the track is pretty fast so I’m hoping I can turn out the same good starts from last weekend. It would be great to get another win for the team. They’ve worked really hard this season and they deserve it.”

Cianciarulo put in another solid effort last weekend, but the Floridian wants more. While he’s only had two opportunities to race the circuit, Cianciarulo is more determined than ever to put his Kawasaki KX250F on the podium this weekend.

“We do have a deep class of riders, but I feel like I am capable of riding at the front,” said Cianciarulo. “When I’ve been able to get good starts, I think that shows. I’ll be working on getting those starts and having fun.”

It will be a sweet homecoming for Hill who had to pull out of last weekend’s race after hurting his wrist in qualifying. He’s on the mend and hoping the hometown push will help him get back to the front of the pack.

“There’s something about coming back to a track you grew up racing,” said Hill. “When you feel at home, it gives you that needed boost to push through. I’m really looking forward to seeing family and friends this weekend.”

The Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki fans are able to get autographs from riders on Saturday morning after their practice sessions at the Monster Energy Kawasaki semi. To watch the motos, the NBC Sports Gold pass can be purchased for nonstop coverage. The first 250 Class will be LIVE on MavTV at 4 p.m. ET, while Moto 2 will start at 6 p.m. ET on NBC Sports.
