Cody Webb Set to Defend AMA EnduroCross Title

2016-07-07 16:36
Cody Webb is ramping up to defend his AMA EnduroCross championship in 2016. After capturing the 2015 title on the KTM backed FMF/RPM Team Maxxis, Webb has now moved over to the full factory FMF KTM team for 2016. He defended his 2014 title in a season long battle with Husqvarna’s Colton Haaker so he will be looking for the three peat in 2016. The series begin on Saturday, August 27th inside the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth, Georgia.

“I am really excited to kick off the 2016 EnduroCross season. I feel like I’ve been riding better than ever lately and it’s going to be a tough season with the strong line up of competitors,” Webb said. “With the factory support from KTM and my 250 XC-F, I know I’ll have what it takes to battle for my third straight championship.”

After taking the title on two-strokes in 2014 and 2015, it appears that Webb will be choosing to use a 4-stroke in 2016. He also competed on a KTM 250 XC-F 4-stroke in the 2016 FIM SuperEnduro series that wrapped up earlier this year, finishing a close second to Haaker.

“Cody Webb is so talented and consistent, he will be a favorite again going into 2016,” said Mike Karsting, VP of events for TEN, the producers of EnduroCross. “It will be great to see if he can fend off the hungry pack of riders looking to take the title.”

The insane EnduroCross obstacles provide a great show and exciting racing for race fans. So if you have never been to an AMA EnduroCross in person, you need to put one on your calendar for 2016.
