Monster Energy to Surprise One Lucky Fan at MetLife Stadium as One Million Cans Recycled is Reached

2016-04-28 10:36
Feld Entertainment® announced today that Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, and MetLife Stadium will play host to the one millionth can of Monster Energy being recycled as part of the Monster Energy Pit Party Entrance Promotion this Saturday, April 30 in East Rutherford, N.J.

Monster Energy Supercross fans have been recycling their empty cans of Monster Energy for free pit party entry across the country for the past nine seasons. Since the inaugural year, participation in the promotion has increased 170% on average per market, across 15 cities during the 17-race season. With over 70 major retailers participating in the program, an average of 32,000 pounds of aluminum has been recycled over the course of the program. The weight of all cans recycled equals the weight of 8 cars or 3 school buses.

The Monster Energy Supercross Pit Party is a big part of the fan experience at every race as thousands come early to take part in the festivities and meet the best riders from around the world, like champions Ryan Dungey, James Stewart and Chad Reed. Last year, Monster Energy Supercross hosted over 357,000 fans at the pit party and more than 50% of the weekly average participated in the Monster Energy green initiative.

Monster Energy will be on site at the Monster can redemption area counting down until the one millionth can is reached. The fan in possession of the millionth can will be awarded a Monster prize package inclusive of a brand new Kawasaki motorcycle, a year supply of Monster Energy drink, VIP treatment at the Supercross race, plus tickets to next year's event at MetLife Stadium.

To further commemorate this historic occasion, Monster Energy is pulling out all of the stops as the pit party will also feature 7-time off-road racing champion BJ Baldwin and short course off-road racing driver Casey Currie as they perform drifting exhibitions as part of the Monster Energy Smoke Show. Additional two-wheel stunt exhibitions will be performed by Unknown Industries' Harley Stunt Demo team, plus FMX and BMX exhibitions featuring some of the biggest names in the sport, including Keith Sayers, Nick Dunne, Geoff Gaskin, Seth Beaton, and Derek Burlew.

The Monster Energy Supercross Pit Party happens before the race from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at MetLife Stadium on April 30. Opening ceremonies start at 6:30 p.m. Pit passes are just $15 and available at checkout on Ticketmaster, or at the box office. Fans can also receive free pit party admittance, and become the one millionth recycler by bringing a can of Monster Energy on-site - must be accompanied by an event ticket.

The entire 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Championship will air live on FOX Sports, including two races on the FOX broadcast channel. In addition, the authenticated FOX Sports Go app will live stream each race.

As a precursor to the live television broadcast, don't forget to catch all of the pre-race coverage with Supercross Race Day Live presented by AMSOIL, which will stream on SupercrossLive.com each Saturday during the season. Practice, qualifying, behind the scenes features, and key rider interviews will all be highlighted on the Supercross Race Day Live presented by AMSOIL webcast.
