Honda Racing Corporation attends Goodwood Festival of Speed2015-06-29 08:26The historic Goodwood Festival of Speed took place last weekend with HRC’s Casey Stoner taking part, riding the famous 1.16-mile hill climb aboard a Repsol Honda MotoGP machine. It’s the first time since 2006 the two-time MotoGP World Champion has riden the famous hill, adorned with 3,800 bales of hay used as crash barriers at the event, in front of over 150,000 fans. MotoGP rider Scott Redding also attended the event to mark the public debut of the revolutionary RCV213V-S – the MotoGP bike for the road. They were joined by 1983 and 1985 World Champion Freddie Spencer, who rode his iconic 1984 NS500, and championship winning NSR500, and 2009 Formula 1 world champion Jenson Button, who had the chance to show off Ayrton Senna’s Honda powered McLaren MP4/6. Staged every summer since 1993, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is the world’s largest automotive garden party; set against the spectacular backdrop of Goodwood House in West Sussex, UK. Over 600 cars and motorcycles spanning the phenomenal history of motoring and motor sport take part with some of the most legendary figures from the sport as well as international celebrities regularly attending.
