The mini days at Monster Energy Mammoth Motocross wrapped up Wednesday in Mammoth Lakes, Calif., with Austin Forkner and Garrett Marchbanks taking away championships in the 85 Open and 85 6-11 classes, respectively. Finish on a High Note
Although Team Green was very successful on the first day of mini racing, a championship escaped them. With another full day of racing, the team was ready to finish on top. The day began with four division wins placing the KX™85 and KX™100 as the bikes to beat. Going into the finals, Forkner grabbed the holeshot and never looked back, taking the win in the in the 85 Open class. Shortly after, Marchbanks rocketed up the uphill start on his KX85 and walked away with the win in the 85 6-11 class. Both riders finished second yesterday, therefore their 2-1 moto scores over the two days of racing awarded them the overall championships in their respective classes.
