Kawasaki Sweeps the Hare and Hound Podium for the Second Round in a Row2012-05-22 18:50
Cherry Creek in Jericho, Utah was host to Round 6 of the AMA National Hare and Hound series, which saw Kawasaki sweep the podium for the second consecutive round. Returning to Jericho for Round 6, Kawasaki privateer David Pearson took the lead a half-mile into the first loop and never looked back, taking his first national win of the season. Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Jacob Argubright took third place behind TJ Hannifin, completing the Kawasaki podium.

After finishing outside of the top three for the first time this season last round, Pearson was determined to finish up front. He got a great start off the bomb on his KX™450F and made the pass into the lead only a half-mile into the race. At the end of the first loop Pearson had built up more than a 20-second lead, which he held for the remainder of the race. The win propels Pearson into first in the points standings, with a 22-point lead over second.
“The weekend went really well,” said Pearson. “I got into the lead early and from then on just set my own pace. The race was close to 120-miles and it was hot and dusty. The course was much faster than last round and really suited my riding. I’m looking forward to the next round to get another win at my hometown race.”
After winning his first national two weeks ago at the very same course, Argubright was confident he could get on the podium again. He took the early lead off the start, but was pushed back by a hard charging Pearson. Kawasaki privateer Hannifin would also get by to score his second podium finish of the season. Argubright would hold on for third for his third-consecutive podium.
Heading to the Desert
The AMA National Hare and Hound series takes a few months off and will return in Panaca, Nev., for Round 7 on September 8, 2012. Kawasaki riders are geared to continue their dominance and look forward to sweeping the podium once again.
