Vince Friese Ready to Compete for $1 Million at the Monster Energy Cup

Feld Motor Sports® announced today that Vince Friese, of Cape Girardeau, MO, will race in the Monster Energy Cup at Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium on October 20.

“That was honestly one of the coolest tracks to ride,” said Friese. “To know you are out there racing for that kind of money is pretty awesome. Having three different main events and three different shots at being up front to be that guy winning $1 million is exciting.”

Friese has been competing in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, for four years and has progressively paved the road to becoming a top-10 rider. Friese is on pace to locking in one of his best seasons in the Western Regional Supercross Lites Class. With one race left, Friese currently sits 11th in the Lites Class point standings, just two points shy of making the top-10.

The 2012 Monster Energy Cup features an all-new track design inspired by five-time Supercross Class Champion Ricky Carmichael. The Carmichael-inspired track design will consist of supercross and motocross obstacles unlike any other racetrack design in the world. More than 200’ of the track will be built into the grandstands, and the riders exit the stadium and race through the Monster Energy Fan Zone outside of the stadium and through the pit area before they catapult back into the stadium. The Monster Energy Cup posts a $250,000 purse with the winner walking away with a $100,000 check, and any rider that wins all three Main Events will take home $1 million.
