BIKECONDOMS, inc. WINS 2010 DeAler Expo KIckstart new product contest

Advanstar Communications, Inc. – a leading provider of print, event and online media for the powersports, off-road and automotive aftermarkets – recently announced Chicago-based BikeCondoms, Inc. has received the grand prize Dealer’s Choice Award in the Third Annual Dealernews International Powersports Dealer Expo Kickstart New Product Contest, held in conjunction with the 2010 Dealer Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana. The competition recognizes the hottest new products in the powersports industry based on innovation, design and manufacturing quality, marketability, and distinction in the marketplace.

BikeCondoms are a new type of cover that protects the top half of motorcycles or scooters from sun, rain, snow, dirt, dust, and debris. Unlike other covers on the market, these inexpensive, ultra-compact, semi-disposable motorcycle covers are ideal for unexpected weather changes. Each BikeCondom weighs less than half a pound and resembles a DVD case in size (approximately 8” x 6”), which allow it to be squished into a jacket pocket, seat compartment, or saddlebag. Since BikeCondoms are also eco-friendly, they can be disposed of guilt-free after one use or repacked for several uses. The material is polyethylene vinyl acetate (PEVA), a durable yet biodegradable alternative to plastic.

“BikeCondoms are not intended to replace the maximum protection offered from a full fabric cover, instead, they are an inexpensive alternative that a rider can conveniently carry at all times for when riders want to travel light but still have protection,” said BikeCondoms, Inc. Owner and Inventor Jason Weaver. “Like its namesake, you never know when you’ll need one.”

“Being a winner in the 2010 Dealer Expo Kickstart Contest and being able to display at Dealer Expo exceeded all my expectations,” said Weaver. “We were able to introduce thousands of dealers and distributors to our product, shoot two video interviews, meet members of the powersports media and, most importantly, sign up dealers from across the country to carry BikeCondoms in their shops. As a small business, I am confident there was no better way to launch this product.”

As the grand-prize winner of the Dealer’s Choice Award, BikeCondoms, Inc. will receive a free 10x10 booth at the 2011 Dealer Expo, set to take place Saturday, February 19 to Monday February 21, 2011, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. All 10 Kickstart winners’ products were on display at the 2010 Dealer Expo, where attendees voted for to select this year’s Dealer’s Choice Award winner BikeCondoms, Inc. Kickstart is a program for qualified Dealer Expo exhibitors created to recognize new up-and-coming products. Companies were required to submit product information and related marketing documents including product photos via an online application. A judging committee, made up of dealers from the show’s Full Throttle Dealer VIP Buyers Program, whittled down more than 150 submissions to select the top 10 winners. The 2010 Dealer Expo took place Friday, February 12 to Monday, February 15, 2010, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
