Last night, the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, made its second indoor stadium stop at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA for Round 8 of the 2010 series. Team San Manuel Yamaha's Josh Hill brought home a sixth place finish keeping his second place position in the overall championship points race just behind Ryan Dungey.

With close to 70,000 fans packing the legendary Georgia Dome, Hill started the race evening taking the holeshot and winning Heat Race 2, for the direct transfer to the main event. Although teammate and current Supercross Champ, James Stewart, remains sidelined due to a wrist injury, Stewart made the trip to Atlanta pulling broadcast duty, joining Ralph Sheheen and Jeff Emig in the television booth, as a guest commentator along with 5-time Supercross Champ Ricky Carmichael.

In the Main event Hill came out of the gate 5th. Still feeling the effects of the earlier crash, Hill moved down to 8th on lap 3. Regrouping, Hill moved up to 7th on lap 5 and then into 6th, his ultimate race finish position.

Post-race, Hill had this to say, “After my crash earlier in the day, I had some regrouping to do. I rode the very best that I could tonight and I am thankful to still be holding on and staying close to the championship points lead in second.”

During the live SPEED TV coverage, when asked when he'd be back to racing, Stewart replied, “I hope real soon and that the next time I see you guys I'm on the podium!”
