Cupertino, California (September 17, 2007) - Ducati North America announces today the overall winners of the Superbike Concorso, a celebration of Ducati Superbikes, which was held during the AMA Superbike race weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Laguna Seca was the grand finale of the Superbike Concorso; with the entry list consisting of winners from all four regional rounds as well as an online round. With a new 1098 Superbike and two VIP tours to Italy on the table, the competition was fierce.

Hosted by Ducati AMA rider Larry Pegram and racecaster Ralph Sheheen, the awards ceremony was an exciting affair. As the contestants fell silent with anticipation; the "People's Choice" award went to Mr. John Bragg, whose 2007 unique 1098 S Superbike carries a Casey Stoner Moto GP replica paint scheme.

For the overall winners in the "Best Original" and "Best Modified" classes, a VIP trip with Ducati to the EICMA Milan Motorcycle show and the Ducati factory was up for grabs. As the participants held their breath with anxiety, Ralph and Larry awarded Robert Lawrence the title of "Best Original" for his 1974 "Green Frame" 750 Super Sport. As Robert held back tears of joy, Dwayne Frye was called up front to receive top honors in the "Best Modified" category, for his 1995 916.

With only seven Motorcycles left contending for the grand prize of a new Ducati Superbike, Ralph and Larry built up the crowd's suspense. The 1098 was rolled up by Ducati's Alex Dunstan for all to see, and the award for "Best in Show" went to Lou Saif. Lou entered his achingly beautiful 1983 TT-1, which had what was easily the sweetest exhaust note in the show.
