Monster Energy Kawasaki's Rickey Gadson Captures Victory in AMA Prostar

Monster Energy Kawasaki's Rickey Gadson earned the Super Street win during round three of the AMA Prostar National Championship Series in Richmond, Va. The rescheduled race win will be credited to the rained-out round from Atlanta last month.

Keeping his times in the eight-second range, Gadson easily advanced through the stacked bracket of riders, but not before facing his nephew Richard Gadson. The match-up pitted the student (Richard) versus the teacher (Rickey), but in the end it was Rickey's experience that lead to the bracket win, with an 8.03 at 176 mph.

During the final round, Gadson was racing with bike set-up issues. Putting his Kawasaki ZX™-14 to the test, Gadson posted an 8.05 at 175 mph to take the Super Street win.

"Even though the bike wasn't shifting into high gear after the first pass, we were still able to pull out the win," said Gadson. "The Kawasaki ZX™-14 has been the bike to beat in the Super Street class."

The Kawasaki ZX™-14 has become a popular bike among competitors in the AMA Prostar National Championship series. Rider entries aboard this competitive machine have increased each race since the bike's introduction.

The fourth round of the AMA Prostar National Championship Series takes place in Memphis, Tenn., on June 9-10.
