Getting an H2

Been away from the boards for quite a while. Had a huge project to do (aside from getting married and starting a new life) and now it has made it through compliance (those who know me, know I build slot machines) and are now ready to sell.
Anyway I decided to get an H2 for various reasons. One being I had bought a 73 H2 new. Yada, yada.
So I went to the dealer yesterday and told them to try and get me a 2017 or I may have to wait for the 2018. They are on the case.
So it looks like once I get it, the first thing is a re-flash after I break it in.
Any suggestions?

Hey Ted long time no hear or here .Anywho this bike will blow your mind.Brock that bastard out and I hope you can live thru it..We were out on a 220 mile lunch ride again. On our way home my son on my Brocked out 14r and me on our Brocked out H2..The H2 can spank it so bad its embarrassing.I have ran 8.9 swb on the 14r..In 45 years of street riding and racing have I ever heard such a mechanical symphony screaming between my legs. This thing is VIOLENT.You have been warned. I geared taller.+1 front -2 rear and it is still crazy dangerous. After the hot rod conversion make sure you set the ENGINE BRAKING ON.It will really smooth out the twitchy abrupt throttle response. Go for it man.

Thanks for the replies.
Yeah, I have been busy starting a new business and getting a product through the most rigorous compliance. Finally getting my head above water.
I'm having trouble finding a new 2017 and the dealer will order a 2018 the moment they can, whichever comes first.

Fish... long time. Hello!
Yeah we are ready to sell machines. It is a really decent machine with a very hot animated Knightette waving a sword around. Now for the sales guys to do their thing.

yep... crazy shit I am hearing about the state of the industry and magazines in particular. We may be small but we are NOT owned by a marketing company. Precious few that are left and are not a marketing mouthpiece or have been summarily shut down.

Bikeland is a truly good forum, that has always been on the up and up.
I haven't been posting for 2 reasons. First I have not bought any new bikes and just ride. Second I have been starting a new business that should have a dozen engineers and has only me at the moment, because we don't want investors. So I have been a bit busy. But we have our machine through compliance and we are poised to go big.
But now it is time for a new bike, I have always had the groundbreaking Ninjas 900, 88 zx10, zx11, zx12 and a 2005 zx10r. But nothing really earth shattering since the last 10 just cookie cutter liter bikes. Now the H2 is my kind of motorcycle and I finally have enough time to enjoy it.
The dealer said Kawasaki called and mine is the first one on the list.
Going to be a long 6 months.

Got it broken in and relearning how to ride. As zx12mark says it is wicked.
Handles beautifully. Very hard to get smooth transitions from off to on throttle.
But I'm learning, the roads are still covered with sand and gravel.

Don Guhl can help / minimize the abrupt throttle response. Brock that sucker out.Wait till you feel what happens.
As Don told me after the mods turn ON the engine braking. It helps the abruptness and eliminates the decel back fires.
I still can`t believe they sold this thing to the public and I bought this fucker.........YEE HAW.

I cured most of the throttle abruptness. I ground down the throttle tube, reducing where the cable rides from 37mm to 27mm. Now it is a 1/4 turn throttle instead of a 1/7th turn throttle. Day and night difference, you can actually ride it smoothly.
With a flash it probably will get even better.

You talking about where the 2 cable barrels go into the throttle rotating grip?

No, the actual tube your grip is glued to. The cables ride on a raised partition which is 37mm in diameter. Grind that down to 27 mm diameter. Now you have changed the gear ratio of the throttle to 1/4 turn, which gives you much more control of the throttle, and the added benefit of less turning resistance.
