2013 zx14

It has been about two years since i have really been active on here and since i sold my 06 zx14. I have been approved by my bank to buy a new bike but I am debating if there will be a slight price drop in 2013 for the 14 kind of like they did with the zx12 Who knows I may even get lucky at someoen selling a '12 at a deal over the next few months. IN the mean time i was wondereing has anyone see the colors for 2013 zx-14r?

Thanks

I doubt if they drop the price for 2013 but u might get more savings on leftover 2012 if any...

Too early to announce the 2013 colors.. won't help sales of 2012..

The ABS is no hardship ! It's not linked front to rear so you can still stoppie if you so wish, only thing you can't do is lock the rear for "backing it in " ! There is about a mile and a half of brake lines in there though.

Shawn i agree.... Wheelie and other members what is the new anti-lock braking system.. One thing i do remember about my 12 in which i think the 14 might have lacked was the braking power or maybe it was on par withthe 12 but the 12 just set the bar. I could stoppie with the 12 like no tomorrow. As far as link abs i thought that was jsut a honda thing

I think everyone here will tell you that the 14's brakes are simply amazing, especially for a bike that weighs over 500 lbs. They are fantastic. Don't know about stoppies I'm not trying that out to tell you!!!!!

If you have another bike to ride for the season, I say just wait until the end of the year. That's what I'm doing. I'm sure you will find a great deal then. Just shop around. If you can't wait just, go to three to four different dealers and put them against one another.

I just don't want to forced to pay for it like cars, and the 14r does not need to be any heavier.

Great advice guys... I tell you i cant believe how bikes have progressed in price over the years. In some areas that use to be the only mean of transportation for some people because car were significantly higher in price.. Now you can get a nice car for what some of the bikes today cost...

On a side note what are people using for tuning these days. The last time I was in the game it was the PCIIIr, the PCIIIUSB, and the DFO box.. I now see there is a PCV and the bazaaz box. I am kind of leaning toward what I know in the dynojet but is there anything out there that better

i disgree with you in some degree... in these days of bad economy alot of car manufactures like toyota and honda and others dropped their msrps vs years past.. good example is toyota camry the retail price has dropped by almost 2k vs previous years with new body style and more bells and whistles.. i think that should be the route for motorcycle industries too.. take a look at used bikes value..they have gone up.. people can not afford or do not want to pay the price of the new bikes as they are now!!

my 07 se zx14 which i sold and got it back( long story!!) i had 3 motorcycle dealers called me that they will give me 6500 for it without me buying anything from them.. they are in need of used bikes ( go figure why)... i have never had dealers calling me to tell me they give me almost retail for my bike!!

I don't think they can improve on the blue or black colors. They could drop the flames on the green model and maybe make it a tad lighter, brighter color like the zx10.

Looking back at what they did with the zx14 form 2006 to 2007 kawi will probably do something subtle like keeping the same colors but make take away the every model black belly pan and color match it with the rest of the bike

JC, I kind understand what you are saying but I remember when I was 21, I bought a brand new zx-7r for 7999 which I thought was reasonable even in those 1996 dollars at that day in time. In today dollars 15-16K is expensive for a bike I don’t care how you slice it. You are talking to a guy that has own a 1996 Zx7,1999 zx9,199 zx11, two 2000 zx12, 2002 gsxr 1000, 2003 zx12, and a 2006 zx-14.. I think with my 1361 kit, air shifter, and nitrous kit I has about 17K in my 2000 zx12. Now you cannot beat the performance of some of these new bike I will agree.

Now I know I will be crucified by saying this but outside of performance what strides do you think motorcycles newer bike justifies the price increase. In cars I can say form the 90’s to now they have gotten safer. Airbags, side impact bars, crumple zones.. Car now have unlimited power train warranties, satellite radio, built in hard drives, heated and cooled seats, ect which I think have all made driving more comfortable and safer. When it comes to motorcycles we have gotten more power some better gauges but nothing I think that justifies a the top of the line kawi going form 9999 for a zx11 in 99 to a as much as 16000 in some case for a zx14. Just my two cents… Bare in mind I want one and will buy one probably at the 14000 price, but I am just going to b---- about it until I ride it,lol

I'd love to see a retro colour scheme e.g. something like the old GPz1000 RX paint on the 2013 ZX-14R

I think there has been a ZX-14 painted in such a way somewhere on the 'net but I can't find the photo at the moment.

Well if history is any indicator, they've never kept the same SE colors from year to year. Even the blacks and blues have been different from one year to the next. Hell, they've offered 2 different reds.... That being said I think they should offer a dark red like the 2010's had. Of course just about everybody loves the green. I could do without the flame decals, but that's like my opinion man.

New bikes are only expensive if you buy them new. If you let someone else pay the big price tag new, and take the huge depreciation hit by selling it to you slightly used, the prices are actually pretty reasonable
