14R air filter available yet?
Anyone hear of an aftermarket air filter available for the 14R yet?

I thought I read here the 14r makes more power with the stock filter in and less with it out. So why bother with an aftermarket.

That is correct. So unless someone comes up with a filter that flows better than factory, there isn't a need for an aftermarket one. Whether someone will build a better mousetrap than Kawasaki remains to be seen.

i recently ordered a K&N filter for my 09 R1. Do you guys really think that it was a waste of money? Is stock really better?

I suspect stock is better than no filter because of turbulence in the airbox. A aftermarket filter will settle the turbulence and flow more air than a paper filter. Us Mustang guys learned this years ago trying to run no filter and confusing the mass air meter with turbulence, then finding on the higher horsepower cars (500+) that a filter 'straightens' the air and increases velocity at the inlet over no filter at all.
