hehe

Rolling the Ninja onto the scales reveals that it is indeed the heaviest bike in this comparison with a fully fueled curb weight of 584 pounds. That’s 11 pounds more than the ‘Busa and are you ready for this… a whopping 133 pounds more than the featherweight BMW.

It also generates the most horsepower, belting out just a fraction over 186 horsepower at 10,300 rpm. Not only is it 7.58 hp more than the Suzuki and 10.26 more than the Beemer but this gives the ZX-14R title to being the most powerful production sportbike we’ve ever tested.

And it was "easier to launch", meaning they were not on it very hard and probably had the traction control on.

584- 48= 536 add one gallon of fuel =544 .. change exhaust - 31 pounds = 513 race weight ... that is only 8 pounds more than my gen 1 zx14 ... toss in a trick light weight battery ... 503 .... I'm sure Shane has some other tricks to remove a few more pound of dead weight ... under 500 pounds race weight ..I'm ok with that ...

These numbers seem slow, the ZX-11 ran a10.2 ET 20 years ago, although not at 145 MPH.

The interesting part is they said the BMW ran a lower E.T. and more MPH.

Haha ok shawn u got me on that one. But Seriously that dyno chart was nuts that busa was right there the whole time on the dyno until the very top. Wtf was it a worked over engine or something. I subscribe to superbikes magazine from europe its a great mag, and they tested them both with also bmw 1300 and they said it KILLED both bikes on the street and anywhere else. They said it wasn't even that close. Actually in the beginning of the article they went by the zx at a 100 mph with the bmw1300 and the zx standing still caught it and flew past it within half a mile. Seems a lil crazy but go to a bookstore and read it yourself. Also i think the 14 had 18hp more than the busa and obvious had way more than the bmw1300.

The Zx 14R's T/C must have been on, or that Busa was not stock, we ran 2 of our new stock14R's at a dyno day recently here in South Africa, one 14r read 2 horses more and the other was reading the same as the Gen 2 Busa with head/cams and all the go fast goodies, the 14R's tq was way beter than the busa even in stock form, same day same dyno.
