Bazzaz Z-Bomb for the VFR1200F

I installed the Z-Bomb on my VFR today and wonder why I did not do it sooner, plug & play power mods are sweet.

I have a 2013 VFR1200F. The addition of traction control in 2012 apparently did not remove the 1st & 2nd gear restriction. The bike felt less than impressive in full throttle rollons from 1st or 2nd gear. The bike would first hesitate, then pick up harder for 400 to 500 RPM and then pull harder on up to red line. Traction control on or off did not affect the power level in the first two gears.

I added a Zbomb and it turned into a different bike. The first time I took it out after installing the Zbomb I left the traction control on. No hesitation when whacking the throttle open at 3000 RPM in 1st gear. The bike pulled hard to around 6000 RPM where the front wheel lifted off and the TC light came on and cut power. I repeated this 1st gear drill 2 more times with the TC on and every time the bike started to wheely the TC ended the fun (felt like hitting the rev limiter). I turned the traction control off and did the same 1st gear roll on. With the TC off and a Bazzaz Zbomb installed the bike would do nice hard pulls and carry the front wheel all the way through 1st gear. What a difference a simple cheap aftermarket device makes. Thank you Bazzaz.

i HAVE A 2010 VFR 1200 FD (AUTO) will the z bomb work when using manual mode?
And does the zbomb de-restrict when you are in 6th gear? in other words does it allow you to rev much higher when in 6th gear? has anyone used the Bazaaz system on their VFR

Lionel unfortunately the z bomb does not work on the FD (auto). I expect there to be an answer for your bike in the form of a ECU re-flash from Guhl Motors sometime later this spring. Don Guhl has been working on a re-flash for both the F & FD models since January. I have a friend who has a 2010 F model who used a Bazzaz fuel controller & z bomb on his bike. I don't know if Bazzaz makes a fuel controller for the FD model. You can contact Bazzaz through treir website. The VFR1200 (both the F & FD) are HP restricted in 1st & 2nd gear as well as being speed restricted to just over 150 MPH. There is far more information on this and other VFR 1200 issues at vfrdiscussion.com/7th generation vfr's
